Important Statement: Canals and Rivers Trust Works at Windmill Lake
ELSC is presently CLOSED until September for sailing whilst the Canals and Rivers Trust perform essential maintenance works on the dam and the causeways. See details here:
However, we have partnered up with other local sailing clubs to keep sailing through the summer. Please email us for details.
In line with Government guidance and the RYA we have written a Risk Assessment for restarting sailing. Please do read it before coming back to the club. Our revised Sailing Programme is now published. We hope to see you back out on the water soon.
2021 Sailing Programme is on the Sailing Prog Page
Having found our site you may be interested in joining the club or getting some dinghy sailing training. Either way, welcome!
Sailing is open to most classes of boats - generally any monohull with a Portsmouth Yardstick between 948 and 1180 having a centre board or dagger board. Fleets exist for Wanderer, Enterprise, Laser, Topper, Pico and Solo dinghies. Optimists are used by helms between 8 and 15 years of age.
Training to RYA standards is available at reasonable fees by arrangement with the club Training Principal.
